Building an irrigation system that lasts a century is quite a feat. The Burlingame Ditch was completed in 1905 to carry water for irrigation, and it is still operating today. The man who designed and built the ditch that turned more than 5,000 acres of sagebrush into productive farmland comes to the Pioneer Village to give you the inside scoop. Ed Burlingame, portrayed by Tom Williams, will go through the ups and downs of such an ambitious and transformative irrigation project. June 2 at 2 p.m. in the Pioneer Village or the Grand Hall if weather is problematic.
