Museum After Hours presents This Old House, Part II. Local historians Susan Monahan and Steve Wilen return for an encore after the success of their presentation on their favorite historic houses in 2023.

On June 27 they will speak about the Ward home and the Small-Elliot home, and their significance to Walla Walla’s rich history. The Ward home is on Poplar Avenue and the Small-Elliot home is on Alder Avenue. Monahan and Wilen have intriguing stories to tell about who built these two houses and who has lived there, and what they contribute to Walla Walla’s historic architecture and culture.

What these two houses have in common is that they have been significantly altered and physically relocated to their present sites. The speakers will share maps and a timeline of exterior images which will reveal much of their evolution. They also have images of past and present interior images.

Museum After Hours is held in the Grand Hall at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
